Obama: Closing Guantanamo "Will Make Us Safer", Wants To Give Constitutional Rights To Terrorists That Have No Constitutional Rights

The Associated Press:

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says his decision to close the Guantanamo prison "will make us safer" and ensure that the government is upholding legal guarantees under the U.S. justice system.

In an interview aired Monday on NBC's "Today" show, Obama says his decision to close the military prison at the U.S. naval base in Cuba was driven by his attempts to balance "what's going to keep the American people safe" and constitutionally guaranteed rights for those imprisoned.

Obama says he is confident the international community will cooperate in accepting some of the militants currently being held at Guantanamo.

Really? "Will make us safer"? Only 62 prisoners returned to a life of terror.

With all due respect, Mr. President, the Constitution DOES NOT guarantee ANYTHING for enemy combatants!
