In an interview held in late February 2009 with Al-Qaeda's media arm, Mullah Nazeer Ahmad, the Emir of the Taliban Mujahideen in Pakistan's tribal district of South Waziristan, stated that the Taliban's jihad will not stop after the U.S. leaves Afghanistan. Ahmad further stressed that the Taliban's jihad is not limited to Pakistan and Afghanistan, as its objectives are global.
Mullah Nazeer Ahmad also warns that there will be vengeance for the deaths of clerics killed during former Pakistani president Gen. Pervez Musharraf's 2007 Red Mosque operation in Islamabad.
On the Downfall of the U.S. and Jihad in Afghanistan
"Allah willing, very soon [the U.S. will be defeated in Afghanistan]. After this year, in 2010, America will be torn into pieces. It has already become powerless in Afghanistan. It is confined to its camps in Afghanistan. They come by aircraft to hold meetings, they cannot come out of [the base camps]; the total area is under the control of mujahideen. Allah willing, very soon, you will hear the good news that Afghanistan has been conquered. But we must take advantage of this time and make sacrifices.
"[The defeat of the U.S. worldwide] is very near, very near. Its economy has utterly collapsed. It has met with defeat in Somalia and Iraq. It's about to be defeated in Afghanistan. The thuggery it has started will definitely end."
On Barack Obama as U.S. President and Expectations From the U.S.
"One white ass has gone; a black ass has taken over in his place. To have any expectations will corrode our belief. We put our trust only in Allah... We cannot expect from Bush or Obama that they will be relief for us. Instead, our difficulties are soothed by jihad."

Taliban To Obama: "[The defeat of the U.S.] is very near, very near" "One white ass has gone; a black ass has taken over"
One 10-year-old Wisconsin girl has a rock-solid excuse for missing the last day of school: a personal note to her teacher from President Barack Obama.
Of course he "excused and pardoned" her; the indoctrination into Obama Youth is far more important than anything she may learn in school!

Fox's "The Journal Editorial Report" breaks down the numbers of Obama's stimulus packaged.
As I've said all along, the "stimulus" had nothing to do with stimulating the economy. Remember Obama's "doom and gloom" rhetoric when pressing for package of the Generational Theft Act CRAPulus? He said if they did not pass the bill, unemployment would reach 9.0%. Guess what? With the stimulus, unemployment is over 9%.
The entire point of the "stimulus" was to push a Liberal Agenda down our throats, create a permanent voting majority at the expense of ALL tax payers, and lead us further down the path towards socialism.

Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center discusses the Letterman/Palin controversy with Megyn Kelly.
MRC President Brent Bozell appeared on FNC’s America’s Newsroom this morning to weigh in on CBS late night host David Letterman’s tasteless jokes about Sarah Palin’s teenage daughters. Bozell said Letterman’s explanation -- that he was really referring to Palin’s 18-year-old daughter, not the 14-year-old who actually went to Yankee Stadium with her mother -- was “worse than the joke.”
Bozell called the joke “disgusting,” and said “If David Letterman were a man — and he’s not a man, he is a coward — if David Letterman were a man, he would stand up and he would say, ‘We royally messed up on this one. I apologize to Sarah Palin, I apologize to Willow.’”
Palin calls Lauer (the media) "Naive" for believing Letterman's "apology". It's nice to see Palin sticking up for women's rights when all the so-called "woman's organization" remain silent. on the treatment of Palin and her family.

If Olbermann wants to slam anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers, why doesn't he start with Mahmoud "Holocaust Denial" Ahmadinejad and his buddy Barack Obama. It is unreal how much Olbermann simply does not get it.
And as predicted, here is Olbermann blaming Rush:
Carrie Prejean Speaks to Hannity On Her Firing From Miss California By Donald Trump, Miss USA Officials (Audio)
UPDATE: Here is the video from "Hannity" tonight. She is so gracious and a wonderful woman.
I'll get the video up soon, but here is the audio from Hannity's radio show:
Bill O'Reilly gives a shout out to the Far Left loons-- "By the way the Holocaust killer has me listed on his website as a bad guy."
Unreal; Chris Matthews and MS NBC Use Holocaust Museum Shooting to Blast Rush Limbaugh, Gun Rights and "Right Wing Extremism" (Video)
One nutjob kills a doctor in cold blood and another opens fire on a heroic security guard and they want to report on a right-wing "movement". Ridiculous. These two murderers are radical nutjobs and do not stand for or represent any faction of Conservatism or the "right wing" of Ameica.
What's next? Keith Olbermann blaming Fox News and George Bush?
As a part of materials recently submitted to Congress, Sonia Sotomayor handed over a trove of video sources dating back 25 years. They show yet again how radical and dangerous she will be as a Supreme Court Justice.
They want to set compensation terms on company's taking Federal TARP money; I'm fine with that. You eat the government cheese, you play by their rules. But capping salaries on private companies?
This is getting ridiculous! This is socialism in action folks! Redistribution of wealth in action! The Liberal assault on free-market capitalism I have been warning you about for months!
Americans should be outraged at the socialism of Obama and the Liberals in Congress.
The Associated Press:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration is taking a half-step toward taming U.S. executive pay. Some lawmakers prefer a fuller stride.
Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee said Thursday the administration's efforts to hector the private sector into reining in executive pay might not go far enough.
The administration contends that excessive compensation contributed to the U.S. financial crisis, but rejects direct intervention in corporate pay decisions.
Instead, the administration plans to seek legislation that would try to rein in compensation at publicly traded companies through nonbinding shareholder votes and less management influence on pay decisions.
"I do differ with the administration in that hope springs eternal and their position seems to be that if we strengthen the compensation committees we will do better," said the committee chairman, Rep. Barney Frank, a Democrat.
Rep. Brad Sherman, a Democrat, said that instead of giving shareholders a nonbinding voice on pay, their votes should be binding on boards of directors.
Democrats and administration officials agreed that companies across the private sector need to adjust compensation practices to avoid damaging the economy.
Gene Sperling, a counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, said administration guidelines call on all publicly held companies to link compensation to long-term performance, not short-term gains.
"We believe that compensation practices must be better aligned with long-term value and prudent risk management at all firms, and not just for the financial services industry," Sperling said.
The committee also heard from officials from the Federal Reserve and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
While the administration has approached the issue with caution, a top Republican said the plans amounted to "incessant government intervention."
"The president cannot continue his heavy-handed meddling in the private sector and expect it to function, much less flourish," said Rep. Tom Price, chairman of the Republican Study Committee.
Alabama Rep. Spencer Bachus, the top Republican on the committee, added: "We need to get government out of businesses."
U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today on the Senate floor issued the first car czar award to Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) for interfering in the operation of General Motors. Alexander also announced a new email address -- CarAward@Alexander.Senate.gov -- by which Americans can send him their nominee for the next award.
The Wall Street Journal:
The latest self-appointed car czar is Massachusetts's own Barney Frank, who intervened this week to save a GM distribution center in Norton, Mass. The warehouse, which employs some 90 people, was slated for closure by the end of the year under GM's restructuring plan. But Mr. Frank put in a call to GM CEO Fritz Henderson and secured a new lease on life for the facility.
Mr. Frank's spokesman, Harry Gural, says the Congressman discussed, among other things, "the facility's value to GM." We'd have thought that would be something that GM might have considered when it decided to close the Norton center, but then a call from one of the most powerful Members of Congress can certainly cause a ward of the state to reconsider what qualifies as "value." A CEO who refuses the offer can soon find himself testifying under oath before Congress, or answering questions from the Government Accountability Office about his expense account. To that point, Mr. Henderson spent Wednesday with Chrysler President Jim Press being castigated by the Senate Commerce Committee for their plans to close 3,400 car dealerships. Every Senator wants dealerships closed in someone else's state.
As Mr. Gural put it, Mr. Frank was "just doing what any other Congressman would do" in looking out for the interests of his constituents. And that's the problem with industrial policy and government control of American business. In Washington, every Member of Congress now thinks he's a czar who can call ol' Fritz and tell him how to make cars.
I have been an advocate for Carrie Prejean since that whole Perez Hilton/Same-Sex marriage incident. If she violated the rules, she violated the rules and should be fired.
However, something seems fishy here.
Carrie Prejean's Lawyer Accuses Miss California Officials of Fabricating Claims
Fox News reports:
Less than a month after being told by Donald Trump that she can keep her Miss California crown, Carrie Prejean was fired on Wednesday.
In a release first obtained by FOXNews.com, K2 Productions, the independent producers of the Miss California USA pageant, under license from Miss Universe, cited continued breach of contract issues as the reason for Prejean's firing.
"This was a decision based solely on contract violations," Keith Lewis, executive director of K2 Productions, said in the release. "After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”
San Fran. Chronicle Blasts Newsweek: Media Not Covering Obama Objectively. This Is a Love Affair and We're 'The Girl' (Video)
Look on the bright side! At least someone in the media admits it's in the tank for "The One".
In “Love or Lust, Obama and the Fawning Press Need to Get a Room,” Phil Bronstein suggested “the Obama-press dance is a more consensual seduction where, in the old-fashioned sense, we're the girl” and asked: “Is there an actual limit to the number of instances you can be the cover of Newsweek?”
Baier's “Grapevine” item on the Wednesday, June 10 Special Report with Bret Baier:
The Executive Vice President of the liberal San Francisco Chronicle newspaper says the press is not covering President Obama objectively. In a piece titled, "Love or Lust, Obama and the Fawning Press Need to Get a Room," Phil Bronstein writes: "This guy is good. Really good. And frankly, so far, we're not...the Obama-press dance is a more consensual seduction where, in the old-fashioned sense, we're the girl…” Quote: “We're even enthusiastically jumping into the pond without even being pushed. Is there an actual limit to the number of instances you can be the cover of Newsweek?"
Meanwhile Newsweek editor Evan Thomas has provided yet another example of the mainstream media's presidential crush. He said on MSNBC, quote: "I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above, above the world. He's sort of God."
Unbelievable! Obama Grants Miranda Rights To Terrorists, Puts National Security At Risk Yet Again! (Video)
"Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay; he wants to meet them without preconditions. Al Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America, and he’s worried that someone won’t read them their rights.”
Governor Sarah Palin
RNC Acceptance Speech
September 3, 2008
Why does Obama want to grant Constitutional rights to terrorists in Afghanistan? Are you kidding me? This is insane! Not to mention, he has created confusion among the CIA, FBI and the Military. What is he hoping to accomplish?
Lindsey Graham nails it on the head when he asks what if captured terrorists like 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad were given "the right to remain silent"?
The Weekly Standard broke the story:
When 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was captured on March 1, 2003, he was not cooperative. “I’ll talk to you guys after I get to New York and see my lawyer,” he said, according to former CIA Director George Tenet.
Of course, KSM did not get a lawyer until months later, after his interrogation was completed, and Tenet says that the information the CIA obtained from him disrupted plots and saved lives. “I believe none of these successes would have happened if we had had to treat KSM like a white-collar criminal – read him his Miranda rights and get him a lawyer who surely would have insisted that his client simply shut up,” Tenet wrote in his memoirs.
If Tenet is right, it’s a good thing KSM was captured before Barack Obama became president. For, the Obama Justice Department has quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S. detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee. “The administration has decided to change the focus to law enforcement. Here’s the problem. You have foreign fighters who are targeting US troops today – foreign fighters who go to another country to kill Americans. We capture them…and they’re reading them their rights – Mirandizing these foreign fighters,” says Representative Mike Rogers, who recently met with military, intelligence and law enforcement officials on a fact-finding trip to Afghanistan.
Jihad Watch reports:
Allegedly this is a sign of contempt in Arab culture. And certainly it would be consistent with Obama's other signs of contempt for Israel and its attempts to defend itself against the global jihad.
Granted, this would appear to be a minor faux pas in America, but one would assume the savvy Obama Team would know better. Not to mention, besides insulting Israel, isn't this a tad insulting to the Oval Office?
Israeli TV newscasters Tuesday night interpreted a photo taken Monday in the Oval Office of President Obama talking on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as an "insult" to Israel.
They saw the incident as somewhat akin to an incident last year, when the Iraqi reporter threw a shoe at President Bush in Baghdad.
World Net Daily reports on how radical Islamic extremists are celebrating this as a victory:
Some Islamic terrorists here are viewing an image of President Obama showing the sole of his shoes while on the telephone with Israel's prime minister as a message of humiliation aimed at Israel.
"This is worse than a slap in the face. It's a sign of humiliation that shows Obama thinks the Israeli government and the Jews don't deserve more than shoes," Abu Mujaheed, the spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization told WND.
"This proves Obama is disgusted with the Israelis. He understands how U.S. support to Israel brought all this hatred toward the U.S. in the world. With Obama's shoes, change will come," he said.

See Max Blumenthal's shocking footage of the reaction by some Israelis and American Jews in Jerusalem to Obama's speech to the Muslim world. Co-produced by Joseph Dana, aka Ibn Ezra: ibnezra.wordpress.com and Mondoweiss, a blog that covers the Israel-Palestine conflict and the Middle East from a progressive Jewish perspective.
The Jerusalem Post reports:
A new video posted on the Internet featuring inebriated American Jewish youth in a Jerusalem bar spouting hate-filled sentiments has garnered massive exposure and caused a firestorm in the media and the Jewish world.
In the video, filmed on June 3 and titled "Feeling the Hate in Jerusalem on the Eve of Obama's Cairo Address," the visitors to Israel are asked their opinions on President Barack Obama and his relationship to the Jewish state
"You're all about talking to the Arabs," says one. "You're going to Cairo making a speech to the Muslim world trying to get them to love you, what about the Jews, man? What are we, chopped liver? You don't care about us. Are we nothing to you? Do we matter? Do you care if we get driven into the sea? Do you care if we get nuked? Are we even... ugh... do you care about us?!"
"My grandmother was in Auschwitz, Obama," he adds. "We're not going to take any Auschwitz bullshit! Listen, Obama, my grandma's number was 1268493, I remember her number on her arm, dude. And listen, never again will we deal with this, never again!"
The four-minute video has been seen by more than 214,000 viewers on YouTube since it was put up last Thursday.
In preparation for Obama's speech in Cairo on Thursday, director Max Blumenthal visited Jerusalem's downtown pub area with video camera in hand to "ascertain the feelings of the young population" about the president and his relationship with Israel.
The video begins with Blumenthal at a bar, interviewing a group of drunk Jewish American youth.
"He's a f**khead... I don't know politics, but he's a s**thead! Anyone who wants to take away my gun rights is an a***ole. He's an a***ole and deserves to get shot," declares a bandana-wearing youngster.
The camera shifts to his friend, who denounces Obama, frat-boy style: "Obama shouldn't pressure Israel for shit. Netanyahu told him to f**k himself and that's how we do it here in Israel baby, (applause) yah!"
Another member of the group stands up and declares, "I worked for the Obama campaign, but honestly, you f**kin' with Israel, you mother, STOP IT!" He stands and points his finger at the camera lens.
"White power, f**k the ni***rs!" declares the bandana-clad drunken youth as a final word from the group, grabbing the microphone to make his point.
In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, Blumenthal, an American documentary filmmaker, defended his video.
Asked about its editing, he said that in the two hours of video he collected, "no people were edited out who expressed pro-Obama sentiments."
Why did he use the interviewees featured?
"These were the most direct responses. I had to make the video watchable," Blumenthal said.
He denied that using inebriated teenagers to represent "a slice of reality, but reality nonetheless," was irresponsible journalism. "Reporting is no less credible when it happens at a bar," he said.
He has become the target of a storm of media criticism since the video's release.
Ta-Nehisi Coates, writing for the The Atlantic magazine, was unimpressed with Blumenthal's journalistic skills.
"For what it's worth, on a very visceral level, what I see is a bunch of drunk racist white kids, doing what I'd expect a bunch of drunk racist white kids to do. I don't really have 'higher expectations' because of the particulars of the Jewish experience, any more than I have 'higher expectations' for Irish-Americans due to the oppressive immigrant experience of their ancestors," Coates wrote.
"Man, listen, hand me a fifth of Henny, a video camera, and an hour, and I'll show you Negroes claiming that God's messenger lives in a space-ship orbiting the earth," he added.
Capital J, a Jewish Telegraphic Agency blog, asked, "Would Weiss post video extracting the worst of thug culture and claim it as representative of the African American experience? How grotesque."
After the first table of participants interviewed, Blumenthal introduces viewers to "Political Science Girl," identified by the assistant director, Joseph Dana, as a Jewish girl from Florida.
Sitting at an outside bar with a group of friends, she is asked by Blumenthal to give her opinion on Obama.
"What is he doing for this country so far? Nothing," she responds. "I'm a political science major so like... I know my s**t."
Blumenthal, who said the girl was not given anything to drink during or before the interview, then quizzes her on figures in Israeli politics.
"Do you know who Binyamin Netanyahu is?" he asks.
"No. Is he the Israel prime minister or something? I don't know who he is. Who's Benjamin Yahoo?" she asks in a drunken state.
Only one interviewee featured asks about the purpose of the video, saying: "I think Obama is an idiot and I just think... wait, is this going to be on national TV or something?"
In his Mondoweiss blog, Blumenthal identifies the interviewees as "college-educated sons and daughters of middle and upper class American Jews from cosmopolitan metropolises and genteel suburbs."
"The sense of entitlement that the American Jewish community has when it comes to Israeli policy is on full raw display in the words of these young adults," he wrote.
Here is the other side of the story:
Unbelievable! The Speaker of the House refuses to meet with one of the top Republicans in Congress? Isn't it part of her job as Speaker to be accessible to all members of Congress?
Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., is complaining on the record that his repeated requests to meet privately with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., have been turned away, according to a report in The Hill.
The House minority whip told The Hill: “I have been told that Speaker Pelosi doesn’t like to meet with Republicans … I would say that is the case in my instance. I have put in requests to meet with her and have yet to be responded to.”
For sure, Cantor may not be at the top of Pelosi’s personal hit parade – since the persistent lawmaker has badgered her to put up or shut up regarding her now infamous claim that the CIA misled her about waterboarding.
Newsmax’s Ronald Kessler in a recent exclusive interview with Cantor caged some comments about her allegations that the CIA routinely lies to Congress.
“If you have the speaker of the House of Representatives, who is second in line to the president and the vice president, making allegations that she has made, it just presents a serious question,” the Virginia Republican said.
Cantor argued that there is a need to determine the truth about Pelosi’s claim.
“To say categorically that the CIA misrepresents itself and lies to Congress, that is so outrageous -- but if it’s true we need to know it,” Cantor said. “I cannot imagine that it helps at all, when you’ve got members of our intelligence community risking their lives every single day for us. In addition to that, swift action is called for because her statement sends a terrible message to our enemies, not to mention our friends.”

Hannity has been saying this for months; the "saved or created" thing is a total joke. Joe Biden recently said we "created 150,000 jobs." It's total BS as unemployment rates continue to rise. Talk about your "fuzzy math."
The Wall Street Journal reports:
Tony Fratto is envious.
Mr. Fratto was a colleague of mine in the Bush administration, and as a senior member of the White House communications shop, he knows just how difficult it can be to deal with a press corps skeptical about presidential economic claims. It now appears, however, that Mr. Fratto's problem was that he simply lacked the magic words -- jobs "saved or created."
"Saved or created" has become the signature phrase for Barack Obama as he describes what his stimulus is doing for American jobs. His latest invocation came yesterday, when the president declared that the stimulus had already saved or created at least 150,000 American jobs -- and announced he was ramping up some of the stimulus spending so he could "save or create" an additional 600,000 jobs this summer. These numbers come in the context of an earlier Obama promise that his recovery plan will "save or create three to four million jobs over the next two years."
The president should 'save or create' more jobs in Cleveland.
Mr. Fratto sees a double standard at play. "We would never have used a formula like 'save or create,'" he tells me. "To begin with, the number is pure fiction -- the administration has no way to measure how many jobs are actually being 'saved.' And if we had tried to use something this flimsy, the press would never have let us get away with it."
Of course, the inability to measure Mr. Obama's jobs formula is part of its attraction. Never mind that no one -- not the Labor Department, not the Treasury, not the Bureau of Labor Statistics -- actually measures "jobs saved." As the New York Times delicately reports, Mr. Obama's jobs claims are "based on macroeconomic estimates, not an actual counting of jobs." Nice work if you can get away with it.
And get away with it he has. However dubious it may be as an economic measure, as a political formula "save or create" allows the president to invoke numbers that convey an illusion of precision. Harvard economist and former Bush economic adviser Greg Mankiw calls it a "non-measurable metric." And on his blog, he acknowledges the political attraction.
"The expression 'create or save,' which has been used regularly by the President and his economic team, is an act of political genius," writes Mr. Mankiw. "You can measure how many jobs are created between two points in time. But there is no way to measure how many jobs are saved. Even if things get much, much worse, the President can say that there would have been 4 million fewer jobs without the stimulus."
Mr. Obama's comments yesterday are a perfect illustration of just such a claim. In the months since Congress approved the stimulus, our economy has lost nearly 1.6 million jobs and unemployment has hit 9.4%. Invoke the magic words, however, and -- presto! -- you have the president claiming he has "saved or created" 150,000 jobs. It all makes for a much nicer spin, and helps you forget this is the same team that only a few months ago promised us that passing the stimulus would prevent unemployment from rising over 8%.
It's not only former Bush staffers such as Messrs. Fratto and Mankiw who have noted the political convenience here. During a March hearing of the Senate Finance Committee, Chairman Max Baucus challenged Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the formula.
"You created a situation where you cannot be wrong," said the Montana Democrat. "If the economy loses two million jobs over the next few years, you can say yes, but it would've lost 5.5 million jobs. If we create a million jobs, you can say, well, it would have lost 2.5 million jobs. You've given yourself complete leverage where you cannot be wrong, because you can take any scenario and make yourself look correct."
Now, something's wrong when the president invokes a formula that makes it impossible for him to be wrong and it goes largely unchallenged. It's true that almost any government spending will create some jobs and save others. But as Milton Friedman once pointed out, that doesn't tell you much: The government, after all, can create jobs by hiring people to dig holes and fill them in.
If the "saved or created" formula looks brilliant, it's only because Mr. Obama and his team are not being called on their claims. And don't expect much to change. So long as the news continues to repeat the administration's line that the stimulus has already "saved or created" 150,000 jobs over a time period when the U.S. economy suffered an overall job loss 10 times that number, the White House would be insane to give up a formula that allows them to spin job losses into jobs saved.
"You would think that any self-respecting White House press corps would show some of the same skepticism toward President Obama's jobs claims that they did toward President Bush's tax cuts," says Mr. Fratto. "But I'm still waiting."
How long have I been saying Obama is at war with capitalism? This column is pretty scary and frighteningly true.
By Kevin Hassett, Bloomberg:
June 8 (Bloomberg) -- I’ve finally figured out the Obama economic strategy. President Barack Obama and his team have been having so much fun wielding dictatorial power while rescuing “failed” firms, that they have developed a scheme to gain the same power over every business. The plan is to enact policies that are so anticompetitive that every firm needs a bailout.
Once that happens, their new pay czar Kenneth Feinberg can set the wage for everybody and Rahm Emanuel can stack the boards of all of our companies with his political cronies.
I know, it sounds like an exaggeration. But look at it this way. If there were a power ranking of U.S. companies, like the ones compiled by football writers for National Football League teams, Microsoft would surely be first or second to Google. But last week, Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer came to Washington to announce what Microsoft would do if Obama’s multinational tax policy is enacted.
“It makes U.S. jobs more expensive,” Ballmer said, “We’re better off taking lots of people and moving them out of the U.S.” If Microsoft, perhaps our most competitive company, has to abandon the U.S. in order to continue to thrive, who exactly is going to stay?
At issue is Obama’s policy to end the deferral of multinational taxation.
The U.S. now has about the highest combined corporate tax rate, second only to Japan among industrialized countries. That rate is so high that U.S. firms have an enormous disadvantage versus competitors. The average corporate tax rate for the major developed countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in 2008 was about 27 percent, more than 10 percentage points lower than the U.S. rate.
U.S. firms have nonetheless prospered because our tax code allows a business to set up a subsidiary in a low-tax country. When that subsidiary earns profits, they are taxed at the rate of that country, and don’t face U.S. tax until the money is mailed home.
The economically illiterate partisan Democratic view is that this practice is unpatriotic and bleeds jobs from the U.S. The economic reality is that American companies use this approach to acquire market share overseas. The alternative is losing the business to foreign competitors.
Don’t just take my word for it. A recent paper by Harvard economists Mihir Desai and C. Fritz Foley and Berkeley economist James Hines and published in the distinguished American Economic Review, gathered data on American multinationals to explore the impact of foreign investments on domestic U.S. activity.
Encourage Overseas Sales
Their conclusion was striking. The authors found that “10 percent greater foreign capital investment is associated with 2.2 percent greater domestic investment, and that 10 percent greater foreign employee compensation is associated with 4 percent greater domestic employee compensation. Changes in foreign and domestic sales, assets, and numbers of employees are likewise positively associated; the evidence also indicates that greater foreign investment is associated with additional domestic exports and R&D spending.”
So when firms expand their operations abroad, taking advantage of the lower foreign tax rates, it helps their workers in the U.S. Higher sales abroad (surprise, surprise) are good for domestic workers.
It is worth noting that this study, which is confirmed by a boatload of evidence elsewhere, was coauthored by the same James Hines who recently wrote a sweeping review of international tax policy with Obama’s top economist, Larry Summers. Summers has to know what the literature says.
So the question is, why does Obama advocate a policy that so flies in the face of everything that economists have learned? How could Obama possibly say, as he did last month, that he wants “to see our companies remain the most competitive in the world. But the way to make sure that happens is not to reward our companies for moving jobs off our shores or transferring profits to overseas tax havens?” Further, how could Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner call a practice that top scholarship has shown increases wages and employment in the U.S. “indefensible?”
I have to admit I am at a loss. Maybe it is good politics to bash American corporations, and Obama isn’t really serious about making this change happen. But if the change is enacted, and domestic corporate taxes aren’t reduced to offset the big tax hike, the result will be a flight from the U.S. that rivals in scale the greatest avian arctic migrations.
If that occurs, the firms that stay in the U.S. will be at such a huge tax disadvantage that they will absolutely need a “rescue.”
Matthews is such a tool. What a joke insulting a former Vice President; show some respect, would you?

Hannity Interviews Sarah Palin: "Told Ya So", Says Obama Is Heading Towards Socialism 'You gotta quit digging that hole!' (Video)
Sarah Palin hits FOXNEWS tonight for the big 'Told Ya So' interview, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
As President Obama vows to spend the 'stimulus' faster, Governor Palin tells host Sean Hannity: 'You gotta quit digging that hole!'
HANNITY: What do you make of – look at the state of the economy now...
PALIN: Well, when you consider that the federal government is about eleven trillion dollars in debt, and we’re borrowing more to spend more.. it defies any sensible economic policy that any of us ever learned through college. It defies economy practices and principles that tell ya ‘you gotta quit digging that hole when you are in that financial hole’
"America is digging a deeper hole and how are we paying for this government largesse. We’re borrowing. We’re borrowing from China and we consider that now we own sixty percent of GENERAL MOTORS – or the U.S. government does… But who is the U.S. government becoming more indebted to? It’s China. So that leads you to have to ask who is really going to own our car industry than in America."
HANNITY: You know but it goes back - It does go back a little to the campaign. I mean, ‘spread the wealth, patriotic duty…’
PALIN: Kind of a ‘we told ya so’.
HANNITY: Well, is that how you feel?
PALIN: That’s how I feel! I feel like… and I think that more and more constituents are going to open their eyes now and open their ears to hear what is really going on and realize ok… Maybe we didn’t have a good way of expressing that, or articulating that message of ‘here is what America could potentially become if we grow government to such a degree that we cannot pay for it and we have to borrow money from other countries, some countries that don’t necessarily like America.
And this many months into the new administration, quite disappointed, quite frustrated with not seeing those actions to rein in spending, slow down the growth of government. Instead Sean it is the complete opposite. It’s expanding at such a large degree that if Americans aren’t paying attention, unfortunately our country could evolve into something that we do not even recognize.
PALIN: Well, that is where we are headed. That is where we have to be blunt enough and candid enough and honest enough with Americans to let them know that if we keep going down these roads… nationalizing many of our services, our projects, our businesses, yes that is where we would head. And that is why Americans have to be paying attention. And we have to have our voices heard. And ultimately it need to be our will, the American people’s will imposed on Washington, instead of the other way around.

Times Online reports:
It is a US Senate race to savour, pitting a porn star named Stormy — the proud winner of the 2007 Golden G-string award — against a Christian family-values Republican shamed after being caught cavorting with prostitutes.
In these gloomy days of global recession and soaring unemployment, the Louisiana Senate race is brightening the lives of many, courtesy of Stormy Daniels, who set off on a “listening tour” of her home state yesterday, taking on David Vitter, the Republican senator, with the slogan: “Stormy Daniels: Screwing People Honestly”.
Ms Daniels says that she is running in response to an internet campaign called Draft Stormy that she claims has got people even more excited than viewers of her hit films Space Nuts and Taken. Whatever the outcome, her decision to thrust her 36-inch chest into Louisiana politics is dragging Mr Vitter’s 2007 prostitution scandal back into the limelight.
“He ran for the Senate on a family values, anti-sex education platform,” Ms Daniels told The Times. “And he’s caught with prostitutes. That’s hypocritical. Call me what you will, but you can’t call me a hypocrite.”
President Bush removed North Korea from this list after they made concessions over the last few years. However, as usual, we have now learned that North Korea's actions were deceitful at best.
Despite Bush's labelling of North Korea during his famous "Axis of Evil" speech, I'm sure somehow, someway, Bush will be blamed for North Korea's nuclear weapons. Just watch.
I agree with Sen. Shelby! Say No to Obamacare!
Nancy Pelosi wants an "Obamacare" Bill passed by the end of July.
Why? Because it's a political power grab to create another entitlement that encourages people to rely on government for every facet of their lives, a.k.a. socialism/communism. This is a horrible idea. It has never worked anywhere it has been tried. Just ask the British or the Canadians.
President Obama launched his "bold" nationalized health-care plan.
Just as Rahmbo The Ballerina said never let a good crisis go to waste, Obama has used the economic crisis as the impetus for passing his radical nationalized health-care agenda.
It's our view, that the President is not terribly concerned with actually fixing the economy.
Instead, he will use smoke and mirrors to covertly pass a radical Socialist agenda, establish a vast power grab for voting supremacy, and attempt to implode America from within.
The Obama Budget contains a $634 Billion "down payment" on national health-care that will ultimately top $1 Trillion!
Sneaky Democrats on Capitol Hill quietly sneaked "stealth-care" into the $800 Billion CRAPulus Socialism Bill. And all of this crap to get health care that Europe has proven as a complete and utter failure.
British PM Gordon Brown recently issued an apology for a "Third World Hospital".
Sen. Jim DeMint wrote a great op/ed in the Washington Examiner a few months ago on the dangers of national health care.
In Great Britain last year, a 24-year old woman named Katie Hilliard was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The disease has since spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. In October, she took time off from her course of chemo and radiation therapy to marry her fiancée because, in her words, “We didn’t know how ill I would get.”
The family of Claire Everett does know. She died in September, of the same disease, with her parents, husband, and two-year old son by her side. She was 23.
Both could have been diagnosed early and possibly saved by a routine screening test. But the British National Health Service does not allow women under the age of 25 to receive that test.
These kinds of stories are commonplace in nations with government-controlled health care, with good reason. As the miracle workers in the global medical research field develop treatments to keep us alive and healthy much longer than ever before, the costs of health care inevitably rise. Government health services looking to cut costs usually choose to ration coverage.
In Great Britain, Canada, Sweden, and elsewhere, government bureaucrats decide which patients may receive which treatments based on how beneficial the treatment will be – beneficial to the government, that is, not the patient.
The process by which government health departments decide who gets what is called “Comparative Effectiveness Research” (CER). And you might be surprised to know there was more than $1 billion allocated for CER in the so-called economic stimulus bill passed last month by Congress.
By comparison, this is how the Obamabots at MS NBC view the health care debate.
"I Don't Care How Much It Costs," adding "I think conservatives are selfish when it comes to health care."

But WND reviewed the list of 789 closing franchises and databases of political donors and found that of dealership majority owners making contributions in the November 2008 election, less than 10 percent gifted to Democrats while 90 percent gave substantial sums to Republican candidates.Via Gateway Pundit:
The listed franchise owners contributed at least $450,000 to Republican presidential candidates and the GOP, while only $7,970 was donated to Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign and $2,200 was given to Sen. John Edwards' campaign.
Obama received a combined total of only $450 in donations – $250 from dealer Jane Baldock in Wenatchee, Wash., and $200 from Waco, Texas, dealer Jeffrey Hunter.
