You'll remember the Valerie Plame situation, where the former CIA operative was publicly named in a weapons of mass destruction controversy. Led by NBC News and The New York Times, the left-wing media went nuts, and ultimately Scooter Libby, a top adviser to Vice President Cheney, was convicted of a crime.
Now we have a situation that is far worse, and the left-wing media is totally silent.
A group calling itself the John Adams Project, affiliated with the ACLU, is secretly photographing CIA agents and showing the pictures to suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, among others. Activist lawyers Joshua Dratel, Edward MacMahon and Nina Ginsberg are just three members of the Adams group who are putting CIA agents in grave danger. "Factor" producer Dan Bank caught up with Ms. Ginsberg:
Unbelievable! The Speaker of the House refuses to meet with one of the top Republicans in Congress? Isn't it part of her job as Speaker to be accessible to all members of Congress?
Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., is complaining on the record that his repeated requests to meet privately with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., have been turned away, according to a report in The Hill.
The House minority whip told The Hill: “I have been told that Speaker Pelosi doesn’t like to meet with Republicans … I would say that is the case in my instance. I have put in requests to meet with her and have yet to be responded to.”
For sure, Cantor may not be at the top of Pelosi’s personal hit parade – since the persistent lawmaker has badgered her to put up or shut up regarding her now infamous claim that the CIA misled her about waterboarding.
Newsmax’s Ronald Kessler in a recent exclusive interview with Cantor caged some comments about her allegations that the CIA routinely lies to Congress.
“If you have the speaker of the House of Representatives, who is second in line to the president and the vice president, making allegations that she has made, it just presents a serious question,” the Virginia Republican said.
Cantor argued that there is a need to determine the truth about Pelosi’s claim.
“To say categorically that the CIA misrepresents itself and lies to Congress, that is so outrageous -- but if it’s true we need to know it,” Cantor said. “I cannot imagine that it helps at all, when you’ve got members of our intelligence community risking their lives every single day for us. In addition to that, swift action is called for because her statement sends a terrible message to our enemies, not to mention our friends.”
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) goes head to head with Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) over Nancy Pelosi continuing to receive intelligence briefings, despite her allegations that the CIA has established "a pattern" of misleading Congress.
He wonders how Pelosi, second in line to the Presidency, can continue to receive such briefings "if she cannot trust the veracity of the information".
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brushed aside reporter questions to elaborate on earlier charges the CIA lied about using waterboarding on terrorism suspects. The speaker says she will say no more on the matter.
Fumbling, bumbling, stumbling...."Not be distracted from it in this distractive..."
Ed Shultz calls on President Obama to weigh in on the Nancy Pelosi CIA scandal.
Ed, he won't, we has yet to take a stance on anything in his life. He will allow Leon Panetta to handle it. If all goes well, Obama will take credit for it. If something bad happens, he'll throw Panetta under the bus.
O'Reilly and Former Speaker Newt Gingrich discuss the "war" between Nancy Pelosi and the CIA.
It's worth noting, as O'Reilly points out, that Leon Panetta's statement last week which said the CIA told Pelosi the truth in 2002, presumably had to be approved by the likes of President Obama and/or Chief of Staff Rahmbo "Dead Fish". A Cabinet member would not make such a bold statement to counter a House Speaker -- any House Speaker -- without White House approval.
Today, Panetta balked from singling out Speaker Pelosi, instead asking all of Congress to put aside petty partisan banter. He urged Congress to keep its eye on national security threats and not get caught up in alleged missteps of the past administration.
I agree completely, which is why Pelosi and other Left Wing loons in Congress should drop this entire torture prosecution case. Pelosi has already got her hands dirty and if she wishes to save her Speakership, she needs to put up or shut up.
House Minority Leader John Boehner calls out Nancy Pelosi for her recent lies and national security threats. He calls on her to produce some evidence for her charges against the CIA or else the Speaker needs to start apologizing to the Agency for slandering them in the eyes of the public and the world.
It's week two and Republicans aren't about to let House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's accusation that the CIA lied to Congress slip between the cracks.
House Minority Leader John Boehner told FOX News on Monday that "the ball is in the speaker's court." If she is accusing the CIA of lying, she "needs to come forward, either present evidence or do an apology, and let's get this behind us."
"Lying to Congress is a crime. Purposely misleading Congress is a crime. And if the speaker is accusing the intelligence community of lying to her or purposefully misleading her, then she ought to present that evidence, turn it over to the Justice Department, have them prosecute it," Boehner said.
Conservative columnist Ann Coulter tells Geraldo Rivera that if the Democrats had to put together a truth commission for the Nancy Pelosi waterboarding case, they would choose Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.
Sweet! Put all the Leftist Liberal Nazis on the witness stand. Try them all for what they knew and when they knew it. Treason is a Capitol Crime!
Rush weighs in on Nancy Pelosi CIA Scandal. He wonders why Ms. Pelosi calling the CIA liars is not front-page news then calls on her to set an example for women by resigning over her lies!
