Florida Granny Pulls Glock-9 On Car Full of Teens Filled With "Road Rage" (Video)

Go Granny! Another example of the 2nd Amendment in action!

GunFacts.info

Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year, or 6,849 every day. Often the gun is never fired and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.

Every day, 550 rapes, 1,100 murders, and 5,200 other violent crimes are prevented just by showing a gun. In less than 0.9% of these instances is the gun ever actually fired.

WFTX Fox 4 in Florida:

A Southwest Florida pistol packing granny pulled her gun on a car of young guys - who she says were full of road rage.

Grandma Pat Cowan was in Matlacha, driving on Pine Island Road. She says Matthew Peck started riding her bumper closely because he wanted her to speed up. She pulled over to let him pass. She says Peck and his friends started giving her the finger and yelling things out the window, and didn't stop there. Peck kept hitting the brakes, so Cowan pulled out her glock to scare the kids. Now she's scared to show her face.

"I scared that one guy, I thought he was going to drop his eyeballs out (she laughs), I did not point it at them though. I just held it in the palm of my hand. It was horrifying, I was so scared, talking to that lady on 911, I couldn't hardly talk," said Cowan.

Peck flagged down a sheriff's deputy to give his side of the story, but when they questioned Peck, they believed Grandma. Since she has a concealed weapon's permit there won't be any charges.

  1. "Rowdy teens" were putting Granny and Grandpa's lives at risk with dangerous maneuvers and trying to stop in front of Granny.

Young punks got what they deserved.

  3. Good for grandma! I'm also a grandma and had to do something similar once. I was driving North on I-75 alone one evening and a car load of drunks were harassing me, trying to run me off the road, etc. I also have a carry permit. I held the gun in my right hand, propped on top of the steering wheel, and acted like I was chambering a round. I never pointed it at them. They left in a hurry and I didn't see them again. The car was out of state but they learned a lesson that day. Beware of harassing Tennesseans. LOL

I just love stories with happy endings.

  7. Granny didn't shoot the guy did she? And she was the on calling 911 not the guy who flagged down the police. I think she had every right to get this guy off her bumper.

  9. I'm a fierce supporter of the right to carry adn I'm glad this worked out for Grandma. I am wondering how much "training" she's had with her Glock, as the pictures show her holding the weapon with her finger on the trigger. No firearms instructor would let her get away with that. Finger off the trigger until you're addressing your target!

  11. Good for her! These guys got what they deserved. It ticks me off when punks like this harass the elderly, they deserve to be left alone and that's nothing but cowardice. Personally, I either pack a Springfield XD .45 compact or a Smith .357 snubby, both with Crimson Trace lasers. I've never had to use either one in self defense, but I would think that bright red dot in the center of the offending dirtbags chest would make him rethink his objective and leave for easier pickings.

  12. I'm a certified firearms instructor in here in MN. Granny's comments "I was so afraid" might one element in a four link chain here in MN.The first link is that you are in immediate and reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm. This link may be weak for her in MN. She and her husband were unwilling participants-2nd step in MN. Reasonable escape is not possible-that she and her husband slowed down to allow the "rowdies" to pass again sets up reluctant participant and reasonable escape is not possible. No lesser force will do is the last link. Harassment doesn't meet the first or last hurdle. Now, if Mr. Rowdy was flashing a knife or gun...that would be entirely different. And that she had her finger on the trigger is a huge signal that she has not been adequately trained. Was there a round under the hammer? Was her firearm a DAO or DA/SA? 14. in my country they're both in the wrong. The teenagers would go up on dangerous driving and the granny would go up on innapropriate use of a firearm

  15. My kind of Granny! My Dad was white haired and always carried a machete under driver's seat here in Connecticut some yrs. back. He was in a bad part of town on business and 3 no goods backed out in front of him and would not move. They were laughing. He put the machete behind him, waled up and asked them what the matter way? They laughed, and then he brought the machete up and down and put a big hole in their fender (he was very powerful man). They got to heck out of there. My entire family grew up on the farm with a closet full of guns and we all learned to shoot. No way will I ever be a victim of someone breaking in. Lifelong NRA member here. The 2nd Amendment is the final weapon we have if and when government finishes taking away our other rights - which they are doing. Every dictator first disarms the citizens! NOT in USA!
