In his first interview since Inauguration Day, Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren tells Larry King that is a misconception that he is an "Anti-Gay Marriage Activist". He adds that he never took a stance on California's Prop 8 Same-Sex Marriage debate and he doesn't concern himself with things like Iowa's recent Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage.

Reverand Warren is, I believe, an honorable and well meaning pastor and, like all Americans, he is entitled to his opinion on the subject of same sex marriage.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it is a baldface lie for him to have stated that he never took a stance when in fact he did publicly come out and take a stand on prop 8.
While in full disclosure I have no objection to same-sex marriage as endorsed in the recent Iowa Supreme Court decision and Vermont case, equally I have no objection to those with differing views. However I think a public figure like Warren does at least owe consistency on this matter.
