UPDATE GAME ON!! Great American Tea Party Update: FL Tea Party Cancelled, Citty Fears ‘Too Many Attendees’

Great Job by organizers sticking it out!!!
From Freedom Works:

Despite the efforts of the local government in Cape Coral, FL, to prevent people from showing up, the tea party is on! FreedomWorks activist Mary Rakovich is taking over the planning of the April 1st Tea Party and wants to send a message to the city that the people of Cape Coral will be heard. If you are in the area, please join her for the tea party on April 1st! I will be on Andrea Shea King’s radio show Monday night around 9:45pm to discuss the Cape Coral situation.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that expressly prohibits the United States Congress from making laws "respecting an establishment of religion" or that prohibit the free exercise of religion, infringe the freedom of speech, infringe the freedom of the press, limit the right to peaceably assemble, or limit the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

From STOP The ACLU:

Remember this report from our nation’s history?

CNN (Continental News Network) Boston, 1773: The city of Boston canceled a proposed protest over tea taxes today, citing the fear that too many people dressed as Indians would be gathered near the wharves. Organizers expressed sadness over the cancellation, but meekly returned to their homes fearful of upsetting the officers of the Crown. Taxmen breathed a sigh of relief as the tar and feathers were put away not to be used this day.

You don’t remember that pre-revolutionary history? I should say you shouldn’t, because it didn’t happen.

A planned April 1st "Tea Party" in Cape Coral, FL was canceled because city officials felt it would attract too many people.

The event organizer says she's not willing to get insurance and accept liability for something that a stranger could do.

Where in The Constitution does is state that our freedom of assembly exists only when we are forced to pay a tax to assemble?

That's all the so-called "insurance and liability" requirements are: a tax. We are being taxed for freedom and taxed for acting on our God-given rights.

Isn't that what these protests are supposed to do? Bring attention to government waste and express our grievances towards our leaders?

This is ridiculous.

On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party's and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington , D.C. 20500 .

I was told not to send the tea bag but rather the tag off the string on the tea bag. The reason; seems the Post Office has been discarding the envelopes with the tea bags saying that they might contain some hazardous substance. The tags will have the same effect. I wrote a letter telling my elected officials exactly how I felt and taped the tag to the letter.

  3. Well, Snarky sort of agrees with you on this one in that I think even lunatics are allowed their day of protest. However just please be consistent that if there were a similar rally by progressives for card check (for example) that you are consistent in approach.
