It's Official! Obama Is More Popular Than Jesus, New Poll Reveals

Can't say I'm all that surprised by this! We don't call him Obama Messiah for nothing!

Obamamaniacs Celebrate Your Hero!

(Feb. 21) - Whom do you admire enough to call a hero?

That was the simple question posed to a cross-section of Americans by The Harris Poll in mid-January. When it was first done in 2001, Jesus was named more than any other person. This year, President Barack Obama topped the list.

Each respondent's answer was spontaneous -- no list of people to choose from was given to those surveyed.

Harris Interactive recently asked 2,634 Americans whom they admired enough to call their heroes. Mother Teresa, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and was regarded as a living saint until her death in 1997, came in at No. 10.

No. 9: Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, pilot who safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River

No. 8: Former President John F. Kennedy

No. 7: Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

No. 6: Former President Abraham Lincoln

No. 5: Former President George W. Bush

No. 4: Former President Ronald Reagan

No. 3: Martin Luther King Jr., civil rights leader

No. 2: Jesus Christ

No. 1: President Barack Obama
