Tuesday is Rahm day. The Obama Transition Team's internal audit will be released tomorrow.
Reports are indicating that Rahm will be cleared of any wrongdoing, but that he did speak at least once to Blago and on several occasions to Blago's Chief of Staff. But what did Rahm discuss with respect to his own Congressional seat?
The whole thing still stinks of dirty Chicago politics. Obama will not be accused of anything illegal, but the way he has handled his first controversy does not bode well for the next 4 years. His carefully phrased responses and overall silence on the issue seem like he is trying to cover up something. Let's not forget that the Transition Office is not beholden to the Freedom of Information Act which would make all emails, voice mails, etc subject to the public record.
The candidate who ran on transparency sure has a disdain for the media asking him questions related to the scandal. How dare the media question the darling they helped create?
Time will tell and maybe Obama will learn from his mishandling of this scandal so when things actually get rough, he won't be the arrogant, megomaniacal untouchable lawyer he has proven to be so far.
