Obama's Latest Executive Order: Office of Urban Affairs; ACORN and Obama's Shadow Government

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts. -- Abraham Lincoln

Barack Obama signed an executive order this week that has largely gone unnoticed. Essentially, by undermining HUD, and bringing the secrecy of another Shadow Government "czar" within arm's reach of the Oval Office, he has fulfilled his promise to have ACORN shape his agenda.

Section 1. Policy. About 80 percent of Americans live in urban areas, and the economic health and social vitality of our urban communities are critically important to the prosperity and quality of life for Americans. Vibrant cities spawn innovation, economic growth, and cultural enrichment through the businesses, universities, and civic, cultural, religious, and nonprofit institutions they attract. Forward-looking policies that encourage wise investment and development in our urban areas will create employment and housing opportunities and make our country more competitive, prosperous, and strong. In the past, insufficient attention has been paid to the problems faced by urban areas and to coordinating the many Federal programs that affect our cities. A more comprehensive approach is needed, both to develop an effective strategy for urban America and to coordinate the actions of the many executive departments and agencies whose actions impact urban life.

Sec. 2. Establishment. There is established within the Executive Office of the President the White House Office of Urban Affairs (the "Office").

Sec. 3. Functions. The principal functions of the Office are, to the extent permitted by law:

(a) to provide leadership for and coordinate the development of the policy agenda for urban America across executive departments and agencies;

(b) to coordinate all aspects of urban policy;

(c) to work with executive departments and agencies to ensure that appropriate consideration is given by such departments and agencies to the potential impact of their actions on urban areas;

(d) to work with executive departments and agencies, including the Office of Management and Budget, to ensure that Federal Government dollars targeted to urban areas are effectively spent on the highest-impact programs; and

(e) to engage in outreach and work closely with State and local officials, with nonprofit organizations, and with the private sector, both in seeking input regarding the development of a comprehensive urban policy and in ensuring that the implementation of Federal programs advances the objectives of that policy.

ACORN in the White House. Pure and simple. Just like the CRAPulus Bill, Obama is paying back his minions to establish a permanent voting majority.

But what's equally disturbing is that Obama continues to centralize government control into The White House. How much of this shadow government is necessary? What's the motive?
He already has a Council of Economic Advisers Chair, a climate czar, technology czar, auto "non" czar (or advisory board or whatever they're calling it these days), regulatory czar, health czar, among about a dozen of folks with the title "Czar". Their role overlaps with a full department. As such, their role is unclear.

Newsmax has a frightening look into the future of the czar-government.

Czar, the title of imperial Russia's autocratic rulers, and kaiser, the label for German rulers, derive from their languages' words for caesar, title of ancient Rome's imperial rulers.

Caesar, of course, was the distinguishing family nickname of Julius Caesar and of his adopted nephew Octavian, who became the first titled emperor, Augustus.

Roman historians inferred that a likely origin for this name was the Latin word for a thick head of hair (caesaries), probably a joke attached to a family known for its male pattern baldness. To call the balding Julius by the name Caesar was like calling a fat man “Slim.” But this apparently humorous term came to be synonymous with “ruler.”

What defined the caesars, the kaisers, and the czars, of course, was that they were a law onto themselves, rather like today's autocratic new Russian Czar Vladimir Putin. These rulers answered to no one and governed pretty much as they wished. Their undefined powers could be expanded by whim and caprice.

What surprised and stunned onlookers was President Barack Obama's appointment of hundreds of these petty dictators to expand government's tentacles into nearly every nook and cranny of American government, business, and personal life.

For example, Obama created a “car czar” as his viceroy to the automobile industry in Michigan and elsewhere. His first choice for this post was Georgetown University law professor Daniel Tarullo.

The car czar was to twist arms of the big motor vehicle companies to produce more dual fuel and improved mileage cars and trucks. These are the very kinds of products with $1,500-per-vehicle-union-legacy-costs-in-pensions-and-health-insurance that the big three automakers had ditched in favor of bigger, more profitable cars and trucks.

Above all, the job of Obama's car czar was to protect the Democrat funding United Auto Workers, even if shielding this union's dues-paying jobs cost taxpayers not only higher car and truck prices but also $100 billion or more in government bailouts for the big three auto makers.

The same was true for all of Obama's hundreds of czars, his little caesars: Job One has been to protect those who bankroll the Democratic Party and to damage those who oppose the Democrats.

Thus it has been these past eight years for President Obama's bailout czar and urban planning czar, his education czar and Latin America czar, his cybersecurity czar and Internet czar, his Afghan-Iraq war czar and income redistribution czar, the voter list czar and radio-Internet fairness czar, and many hundreds more.

And through their partisan power, Barack Obama became America's permanent caesar.

Hey, don't blame me! I didn't vote for him! I'm just putting the facts out there!
This is why we conservatives do not wish Obama's policy to succeed because we won't recognize our country anymore.
Totalitarianism is real!

  1. I read the EO, this one should be easy to overturn as It FAILS TO CITE THE LAW IT IS BASED ON!

    EO's require some relation to existing law.
    They often stretch the connection to ridiculous lengths, but must be able to claim at least some tenuous justification in prior law.

    This inane socialist act fails that simple test, it is unconstitutional power grabbing.

    If congress is not truly made of spineless weasels this EO will be voided ASAP.
