Doomsday: North Korea's Successfull Nucler Test (Video)

Dear President Obama, Secretary Clinton, and the rest of Team "O": Wake up!

The AP reports:

North Korea claimed it carried out a powerful underground nuclear test Monday - much larger than one conducted in 2006 - in a major provocation in the escalating international standoff over its rogue nuclear and missile programs.

Pyongyang announced the test, and Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed an atomic explosion at 9:54 a.m. (0054 GMT) in northeastern North Korea, estimating the blast's yield at 10 to 20 kilotons - comparable to the bombs that flattened Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The regime also test-fired three short-range, ground-to-air missiles later Monday from the same northeastern site where it launched a rocket last month, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing unnamed sources. The rocket liftoff, widely believed to be a cover for a test of its long-range missile technology, drew censure from the U.N. Security Council.

Netanyahu Talks Directly To Obama Not The Press (Video)

Notice the body language of the Prime Minister. It's clear that he understands the Iranian nuclear threat for better than the President.

Fox News reports:

President Obama won't put an "artificial deadline" on Iran to abandon its nuclear weapons program but said Monday that the Islamic Republic's obtaining a nuclear weapon would be not only a threat to Israel and the U.S. but "profoundly destabilizing" to the international community in general.

In talks with reporters after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama said he would not let talks go on forever, but the June election in Iran will be revealing about whether there is a chance for progress with Tehran by the end of the year.

"Iran is a country of extraordinary history and extraordinary potential and we want them to be a full-fledged member of the international community, and be in a position to provide opportunity and prosperity for their people but that the way to achieve those goals is not through the pursuit of a nuclear weapon," Obama said.

The president added that a "range of steps" are still available against Iran, including sanctions, if it continues its nuclear program.

"We are not foreclosing a range of steps ... in assuring that Iran understands that we are serious," he added.

Netanyahu said Iran's obtaining nuclear weapons would be an existential threat not only to Israel but the rest of the world.

"It could give the nuclear umbrella to terrorists or worse, it could actually give nuclear weapons to terrorists I believe it would put all of us in great peril," he said. He added that in his 59 years of life -- the modern Jewish state is only 61 years old -- he has never seen the Arabs and Jews so closely share the same threat as the one they both face from Iran.

Newt Compares Obama's Nuke-Free Planet To "Carter's Fantasy View Of The World" (Video)

“I'm not naive. This goal will not be reached quickly –- perhaps not in my lifetime. It will take patience and persistence,” President Obama told an adoring crowd that waved miniature American and Czech flags. “But now we, too, must ignore the voices who tell us that the world cannot change. We have to insist, "Yes, we can."

Newt was on fire today on "Fox News Sunday"!

Indeed, a nuke free world is an impossibility. But then again, Obama thinks Iran is a tiny country which poses no real threat to America.

I can't believe Obama is this naive... is he?

Iranian President Declares His Country a Space and Nuclear Power!

Hooray!

TEHRAN, March 13 (RIA Novosti) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday that pressure from Western powers trying to keep Iran in economic isolation have in fact spurred the country to become a space and nuclear power.

"Had you not been bad-tempered and blocked the way, the Iranian nation would not have been present in space, and would not have become a nuclear power," Fars news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying at the inauguration ceremony of a natural gas deposit in the Bushehr province.

Iran put its first communications satellite, Omid (Hope), into a near Earth orbit on February 2. The research satellite was carried into orbit by a home-made launch vehicle, Safir (Messenger). Iranian Communications Minister Mohammad Soleimani earlier said that the country's scientists were working on the creation of four new satellites to be placed into near-Earth orbit.

The Iranian president said Western powers are unable to stop Iran's technological and scientific progress with their "spiteful actions." He also called the international economic sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program a "grave blunder."

"Of course, we believe that the Iranian nation can tread the path to progress under God's mercy," he said.

Iran Tests Long-Range Missile; Israeli General Says Iran Has "Crossed Nuclear Threshold"

This weekend, Iran reportedly test-fired a missile which, the Irani government claimed, could reach Israel via Irani fighter jets.

In addition, a top Iran military commander boasted: "All the nuclear facilities in different parts of the land under the occupation of the Zionist regime are in the reach of Iran's missile defenses.

It seems pretty clear to me that Iran is dead serious on its promise to eliminte American ally Israel.

I simply cannot understand Obama's policy to engage Iran, the Taliban, Cuba etc in diplomacy

The Jerusalem Post reports:

In a chilling indication that Iran's arms program is advancing steadily, Israel acknowledged for the first time that Teheran had mastered the technology to make a nuclear bomb on the same day that the Iranians announced they had successfully tested a new air-to-surface missile.

Iran has "crossed the technological threshold," and its attainment of nuclear military capability is now a matter of "incorporating the goal of producing an atomic bomb into its strategy," OC Military Intelligence Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin told the cabinet on Sunday.

"Iran is continuing to amass hundreds of kilograms of low-enriched uranium, and it hopes to exploit the dialogue with the West and Washington to advance toward the production of an atomic bomb," he said.

The Israelis are much closer to the source and have a greater cause for alarm, yet Defense Secretary Robert Gates is growing soft as he drinks the Kool-Aid.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the hawk tasked with forming Israel's next government after last month's general election, said Iran was the top challenge facing the Jewish state.

"Iran is seeking to arm itself with nuclear weapons and is the most serious threat to our existence since the war of independence" in 1948, he said. In an interview with NBC television, on Sunday Defence Secretary Robert Gates said Iran was "not close to a weapon at this point."

But in a separate interview with CNN the same day, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen expressed concern about the quantities of low-enriched uranium that Iran had produced.

Mr. President, please re-think your foreign policy.
